Hiccup Cure

peanut-butter

Just in case all the laughter from last week’s post gave you the hiccups I’ll share my families cure. My family and I have been using peanut butter as a cure for the hiccups for years. You can click here to see a list of 9 things that help to cure hiccups. Some of these other suggestions might work too, but I am not about to try and get my 5-year-old granddaughter who gets the hiccups often to try and drink hot sauce or chew a spoonful of dill. When she gets them she just comes to me and tells me she needs a spoonful of peanut butter and it works every time. She loves it and it is good for her too!

This is the theory behind using peanut butter from the article. It says “A classic hiccups cure involves eating a big spoonful of peanut butter. In the process of chewing and getting it off your tongue and teeth, your swallowing and breathing patterns are interrupted. And hence, the hiccups will be history.”
